Hope you’re ready, because I Wanna Run!
It’s been 5 years since I released new recordings to the world. My ‘Daydreaming’ EP was shared on all major streaming services not long ago, but it’s a collection of songs I wrote and recorded in college, and I originally uploaded the songs online in 2015. For those of you we see at the live shows, you’re very familiar with my newer songs. Recordings of those songs are on their way! My fellow Trio mates, Pat and Mikey, have been helping me get these songs as perfect as can be, and we’ve got the first batch of them almost ready to be shared. In the meantime, I’ve been working on even more music to bring to you.
THAT BRINGS ME TO THE REAL NEWS OF THIS POST: Next month I’ll be releasing a BRAND NEW SONG, one that I’ve never performed in front of anyone and that only a handful of people have heard in the process. The song is called ‘I Wanna Run’ and will be available to stream everywhere.
‘I Wanna Run’ represents a new sound and a new approach to songwriting for me. The Daydreaming EP was largely centered around acoustic guitar, because that’s how the songs were written and how I felt they should be heard. With ‘I Wanna Run,’ I was exploring new ways of making music at home when I couldn’t meet up with the band to play together, and it was during a session of playing with a MIDI keyboard and some synth sounds when I stumbled upon what became the bones of the song. From there, the song seemed to write itself, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It’s a song about relationships, sharing the ups and downs of life with another person, and knowing that no matter how tough things get, you’re going to have each other’s back.
I can’t wait for you to hear it, and I’ll share more details as we get closer. You can sign up for my mailing list to get all the latest news (thank you to those who already have!), and I’m sending out a SNEAK PEEK OF THE SONG TO THOSE ON MY MAILING LIST before it comes out! And if you haven’t yet, please follow me and listen to ‘Daydreaming’ on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever you get your music, because any activity for my songs on those platforms helps set up successful new releases going forward. I truly appreciate all of your support, and I’m looking forward to next month!
Sincerely,
Sam
